The story of the Trojan War is one of the most famous conflicts in human history and has been told and retold countless times. Up to 19th century when Heinrich Schliemann excavated the remainders of an ancient city at the place where Homer placed Troy, everybody believed that Homer’s story was just a myth. Today modern archaeologists confirm that these findings correlated with the existence of Homer’s Troy as well as its destruction.
